Hello! – Bethlehem #8

Hello friends and family!

This week we went to go find a woman who had investigated the church a
few years back. She immediately let us in and talked our ears off! She
wants to take the missionary lessons again and raise her kids to
believe in God. Her and her husband had been discussing church with
each other and what they wanted to do with their kids and raising them
going to church or not. We’ve seen so many miracles this week, I’m so
grateful for all of the opportunities that are arising for us!

We had a former investigator (who I’ve never met) text us this week
and say she wanted to meet with us! So we went over, and after she got
over the surprise that she didn’t know either of us, she told us about
how she really, really wants to be baptized and she likes our church
and the Book of Mormon a lot. I’m excited to see where things go with
her!

This week I’ve been thinking a lot about real intent. We have so many
people who have sincere hearts, they really mean well. But how many of
them are actually following through with their desire to change? Do
you say you’re going to do something because you actually want to do
it? Because you’re actually planning on doing it? Because you’re
actually doing it? Are we still going to do something after the
feeling we had when we said we would do it is gone?

We’ve been teaching a lot of people about the sabbath day during
lessons, dinner appointments, while tracting, everywhere. In one
specific appointment we had, at the beginning of the lesson we sang As
Now We Take the Sacrament. The spirit was there immediately as we sang
and pondered the words in the hymn. My appreciation for the Savior and
His Atonement grew as we shared how we all keep the sabbath day holy
and why we go to church. The woman we were teaching shared how much of
a difference it has made in her life since she’s kept the sabbath day
holy and how much more she loves our Savior because He atoned for us
and because she can renew the covenants she has made with Heavenly
Father every week. The sacrament is so important and keeping the
sabbath day holy is a commandment from God. So many people have told
us stories of how their lives were blessed when they took that
seriously and kept the sabbath day holy. And how they couldn’t make it
without the sacrament.

I hope you have a wonderful week! I love you to the moon and back!

Love,
Sister Gomm
